Powell Custom Homes Wins Three Highly Coveted MAX Awards
from Home Builders Association of Greater Austin

Austin, Texas — May 11, 2009 — Powell Custom Homes proudly announces three new MAX Award recognitions from the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Austin. The winners were announced on May 2, at the 18th annual Marketing and Advertising Excellence (MAX) Awards and Gala at the HBA's Phillips Event Center in Austin. Powell's three MAX Awards included Best Product Design $350,001-$500,000, Best Product Design Speculative $400,001-$600,000 and Best Kitchen Remodel.

The winner for Best Product Design $350,001-$500,000 is a custom designed rustic cedar home, nestled on a 3 acre site at 8244 Lime Creek Road. Native Texas moss limestone and lap cedar siding accentuate the large cedar columns on the exterior which continue inside to a dramatic and vaulted living room with a full wall of glass to the rear. An outdoor carport, workroom, hot tub and campground make this Powell Custom Home an outdoorsman's dream.

Powell's Max Award winner for Best Product Design Speculative $400,001-$600,000 was designed and built in the Craftsman style for lake area living at 14954 Arrowhead Drive. The home is situated high on a sloping lot taking advantage of first and second story Lake Travis views with a large covered balcony that invites guests into the open floor plan. Shaker style cabinets and a huge granite countertop island provide for the perfect entertaining venue. This spec sold for list price within thirty days of permanent power installation.

The Max Award winner for Best Kitchen Remodel was a renovation project at 85 Pascal Lane. To accommodate the owner's love of cooking, extreme detail went into design, size, materials and finishes prior to construction. Major renovations included additional space for a commercial stove and an entertaining island, as well as a cozy breakfast area.
